RCI Evaluation Reports Wins Award

HSE Open Acess Awards

Evaluating the Implementation of the RCI in Irish Mental Health Services (O'Brien, Webb, Stynes, Cosgrave & Ardis, 2015) was announced as the winner of the HSE Open Access Award in the mental health category.  The awards were announced by Mr. Tony O'Brien on December 11th, 2015.The award is to encourage and reward open access publishing in the health sector in Ireland.

Open access to health information has been proven to increase citation, impact and can lead to the translation of research into better outcomes for patient care.

The overall winner of the 2015 HSE Open Access Research Award was Edel Quinn, Mark Corrigan and colleagues, for their paper, "Clinical unity and community empowerment: the use of smartphone technology to empower community management of chronic venous ulcers through the support of a tertiary unit", Department of Surgery, Cork University Hospital.
