'Finding Ouroboros' - EVE Estuary to display Art Work at Knockanstockan & Electric Picnic.

EVE Estuary have been successful in their application to display their art work at two of Ireland’s greatest music & arts festivals.

EVE Estuary Artist Group's proposed Installation will consist of three major interlinking elements, which will be adorned by smaller works of art. Their proposed installation will be constructed entirely out of recycled materials & found objects.

The group took the theme of Ouroboros as starting point.

The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. It often represents self-reflexivity, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself.

This opened up to ideas around renewal, life, death and circularity.

The overall theme of the installation is of life overcoming decay and creating beauty.

The Artist Group feel it is important to integrate into their community and to allow for the growth of new friendships and possibilities. The group appreciate this wonderful opportunity. It will help them in achieving some of their goals, which will in turn have a positive effect on everyone involved.

The Artist Group hope to raise awareness of how recycled materials can be modified into works of art, to express something other than their original raison d’etre.

They also wish to highlight the importance of appreciating the hidden potential in the ordinary everyday object and person.
