Sea Change launched their 2019 Impact Report, today, October 16th and it was interesting reading. One fifth of people surveyed said they saw someone wearing a Green Ribbon this year. There was a 2% increase in those who have seen, heard or read about the campaign online. When asked if it was important to continue to have open conversations about mental health with friends / family / colleagues Sea Change saw a significant increase who strongly agree, from 20% in 2018 to 54% in 2019.

EVE services took part in and held various activities and initatives throughout May 2019 to highligt mental health stigma awareness. Mental health stigma is a significant problem for people who experience mental health issues and has been identified to be almost as difficult to manage as the experience of being unwell. Mental health stigma usually involves the use of negative labels to identify people as different; resulting in feeling devalued and can lead people to isolate themselves for fear of being misunderstood.
