Phoenix Clubhouse supported and celebrated the national Green Ribbon campaign during the month of September. They hosted three events.
On the 1st of September memebrs and staff manned an information stand in The Mill Shopping centre in Clondalkin. Members and staff handed out green ribbons and spoke to people about the Green Ribbon Campaign and about the Phoneix Clubhouse service. The local businesses and public were very supportive of the Green Ribbon campaign.
On the 9th of September they had a ‘Walk and Talk’ in Corkagh park in Clondalkin. Members and staff did a mindful walk in the park and chatted over a picnic afterwards about the sights, sounds and feelings they experienced on the walk. Some of the things members and staff acknowledged were the beautiful bird song they heard, the reflections on the lake, the warm breeze, the gravel underfoot and of the feeling of relaxation. The benefits of outdoor physical activities for our mental health was discussed at great lenght.
On the 29th of September. Phoenix manned an information stand in The Square shopping centre in Tallaght where members and staff handed out green ribbons and information on Phoenix Clubhouse. Staff and members spoke to local businesses and the public who were very supportive of the GreenRibbon campaign.
